KNOX Micro-Lock (Part 219)
On a motorcycle, hips are one of the more commonly affected impact zones – often close behind knees and legs. Adding focused impact safety in this area can be an important way to reduce the risk of serious hip injuries.
These KNOX Micro-Lock hip pads (Part 219) slide into the dedicated hip pockets in all Mo’cycle® jeans and pants, creating a more complete lower-body safety setup when combined with suitable garments and, where applicable, an airbag system. For Mo’cycle Riders, Impact Sliders and the wider Airbag Generation, this is how you turn “just jeans” into a more serious lower-body protection platform.

DOUBLE-LAYER HIP SAFETY: PAD + AIRBAG
In our airbag-equipped garments, the hip pad sits beneath the Mo’cycle® airbag, closer to your body.

Impact sequence on the hip:
Road → denim → inflated airbag → hip pad → your body

That means your hips benefit from:
• Airbag cushioning: A large, pressurised air volume that helps spread and manage the initial impact energy.
• Impact pad close to the bone: A traditional impact pad directly over the hip area to further help absorb and diffuse remaining energy.

Airbag cushioning plus a Micro-Lock pad gives you two elements working together to manage impact energy around one of the key weight-bearing joints in a typical motorcycle crash. Actual safety performance will always depend on crash circumstances, speed, angle of impact, rider posture and the rest of your gear, but this configuration is designed to give your hips a better chance than riding with fabric alone.
