The Airbag You’re Trusting

Mo’cycle® Airbag Module "Impact Backup V1" (IBV1) is the peace of mind that matters, because riding is dangerous by nature. We built it for surviving a motorcycle accident, so it must be predictable, mechanical, and simple: no app, no subscription, no charging, no mystery. Just reliability you can trust in the moment you don’t control.

BEFORE DEPLYMENT: The comfort comes from the flat, soft, flexible construction that feels like regular clothing and ventilates like shorts, so after a minute of wearing it, you forget it’s there. Until the moment it’s needed.

DEPLOYMENT: It wraps your lower body in a powerful 360° airbag, firm enough to absorb impact, soft enough to give your body "the hug of safety", helping reduce violent hits, limit twisting, and create vital distance from the asphalt (especially for your knees) when everything happens at once. You can really feel the safety it provides, there is nothing like it - Watch here!

AFTER DEPLOYMENT: Simply reload the CO₂ cartridge, reset the system, and you’re ready to ride again. No batteries. Just pure mechanical reliability.

ONE AIRBAG - Multiple styles to choose from. Pair the same module with any of our jeans or pants.

  • CE - Airbag Protocol: PAC-002 (12/2024)

  • CE - EN 17092-4:2020

  • Predictable activation: designed to deploy when a crash forces separation, not from normal riding.

  • Serious air volume ~17 Liters: built to cushion the lower-body impact zone, not just “feel padded.”

  • Re-usable: Reload CO₂ (unless you have been in a serious accident)

  • No blind trust required: you can see the module, see how it works, and see it proven in crashes.

  • Fast inflation < 0.12 seconds: the protection arrives in the moment it’s needed, not after the impact.

  • Mechanical trigger: no batteries, no charging, no software anxiety.

TECH & SPECS – MO’CYCLE® AIRBAG

A reusable, mechanically triggered airbag engineered for blink-fast, lab-verified impact safety performance. Then you clip in, the system is always armed – no batteries, no charging. Upon a crash-level tug, the module inflates in under 0.15 seconds, reaching approximately 0.2 bar at around 150 ms, then stabilizing at a protective working range (protocol reference around 250 mbar) with a steady hold of at least 5 seconds. Internal lab tests show a smooth, controlled pressure curve with a peak around 0.47 bar (size-dependent), and no harsh overshoot. Integrated impact protectors (such as hip and knee) work with the airbag to spread energy and shield the bladder from sharp points, creating a double-layer safety system for real-world crashes.

Key KPIs
Inflation time: < 0.15 s (activation to working pressure).
Pressure at ~150 ms: approx. 0.2 bar (fast pressure rise).
Peak internal pressure: around 0.47 bar (size L, internal lab reference).
Hold time: ≥ 5 s at working pressure.
Air volume: ~17 L (size L reference).
CO₂ cartridge: 60 cc (easy reload).
Trigger type: mechanical (no batteries).

TESTED AND VERIFIED
Airbag protocol: PAC-002 (12/2024) – activation force within 30–250 N, multidirectional triggering, over-inflation tested at 2× working pressure (≤ 1 bar) without burst, and tether strength > 776 N.
Garment standard: EN 17092-4:2020 (Class A) trousers (outer shell that houses the module).

Values are lab-measured, not estimates. Performance varies with size, temperature, fit and cartridge condition. Always safety-check the airbag after any deployment.

Airbag designed by Mo’cycle in Sweden & made in France by Helite

Mo’cycle designed and invented the lower-body airbag module. To manufacture it at the level a life-saving device demands, we partnered with Helite in France, a specialist airbag company with R&D, labs, manufacturing, and quality control based in Dijon, France.

I first contacted Helite’s founder, Gérard Thévenot, back in 2020 when we were still prototyping the Airbag Jeans and that relationship became our production collaboration.

  • Mo’cycle invention - Helite production: we own the design; Helite manufactures it for us.

  • Made in France & final quality control in Sweden: Helite finalizes the airbag module in France with quality controls before sending it to us in Sweden for final quality checks.

  • Founder-led expertise: Helite was founded by French engineer Gérard Thévenot (early 2000s) who invented the Airbag Vest (+25 years ago)

  • Not “hype tech”: we chose a partner with established industrial process, not a random cut-and-sew supplier

  • Why it matters to you: higher consistency, tighter quality control, fewer unknowns.

  • The point: when the moment comes, you don’t want “new.” You want proven production behind a Mo’cycle invention.

RELOAD & RIDE AGAIN

The Mo’cycle® airbag module is reusable, provided it remains structurally intact after a crash. The airbag itself is designed to withstand one real-world crash.

The CO₂ cartridge is the consumable part; If you have been in a high-speed crash, replace the complete airbag system. If the crash was a minor incident at low-speed with no visible damage to the airbag, cartridge area, fabric or stitching, carefully inspect it – test inflate with a spare cartridge and inspect the airbag while inflated as well. When in doubt, treat it as a high-speed crash and replace the full airbag system anyway.

  • Inspect the garment and airbag - Check that nothing is broken, torn or heavily abraded, test inflate and inspect as well.

  • Replace the spent CO₂ cartridge - Use a new cartridge of the correct size.

  • Re-arm the trigger - Follow the instructions for your model.

  • Clip back in and you are ready for the next ride.

ONE AIRBAG – MULTIPLE GARMENTS

One Airbag to rule them all! The same Mo’cycle® airbag module is designed to work across multiple Mo’cycle® garments (jeans, pants and shorts). That means:
One airbag module you know and trust.
Several outer garments for different seasons and riding styles.
The same familiar safety system wherever you go.

HOW THE TETHER WORKS

The Mo’cycle® airbag is a fully mechanical safety system with no batteries, electronics, subscriptions or charging. It only needs three things from you: clip in, ride, and reload after a deployment.

CLIP IN BEFORE YOU RIDE
Each Mo’cycle® airbag garment (jeans, pants, shorts or vest) has a built-in trigger point. A dedicated tether connects that trigger to your motorcycle:
One end of the tether stays permanently mounted to the bike.
The other end of the tether clips to your Mo’cycle® airbag garment.
Clipping in becomes the same habit as fastening your helmet.

CRASH DETECTION – MECHANICAL “DEAD MAN’S SWITCH”
If you separate from the bike in a crash, the tether gets a strong, sudden pull. When the force is high enough (crash-level, not just a small tug), the mechanical trigger releases and activates the CO₂ cartridge inside the airbag module.

There is no GPS, gyro, app or subscription involved – just a robust mechanical “dead man’s switch” designed for real-world use.

AIRBAG COVERAGE

Coverage depends on which garment you’re wearing:

  • Airbag Jeans / Pants / Shorts: hips, thighs, tailbone, and lumbar area.
  • Airbag Vest: chest, ribs, back, spine, plus neck-stabilization before an impact, the ambulance paramedics stabilizes the neck after the impact.
  • FULL SPINE coverage can only be achieved with both the Upper- and Lower- body airbags.

WHY THIS IS DIFFERENT
Neck stabilization typically happens after a crash (once emergency services arrive). Our system is built to help support and stabilize before the first impact hit—when the highest forces can occur.

REVOLUTIONARY SPINE + TAILBONE IMPACT SAFETY
Mo’cycle adds airbag coverage around the spine, up toward the upper vertebrae, Atlas and down to the Tailbone, targeting areas that traditional motorcycle gear fall short.

Airbag Explained by Ryan at FortNine

Ryan Kluftinger (RyanF9 / FortNine 2.3 Million subscribers) did a deep review of our Airbag Jeans and he explains it in a way we honestly can’t as inventors. We’re deep in specs and engineering but Ryan translates it into clear, real-world language so you instantly get what it is and why it matters. Watch below.
