DESCRIPTION - MELVIN AIRBAG-READY JEANS
The Melvin Airbag-Ready Jeans are the stealth brother in our men’s lineup – classic 5-pocket jeans rebuilt in a black-coated, AA-rated Armalith® denim that is both abrasion-resistant (AA level) and water-repellent. They look and feel like a clean pair of black everyday jeans, but underneath the coating you have CE-certified motorcycle denim designed and tested for real-world motorcycle use.

The stretch fabric and straight men’s fit give room in the thighs and knees so you can move naturally on and off the bike. Melvin is built on the same airbag platform as our award-winning Airbag Jeans and Adventure Pants. Once you add the Mo’cycle® Airbag module and impact protectors (sold separately), Melvin connects into the same safety platform that independent reviewers have highlighted for its safety performance and that has received multiple international traffic-safety awards – a stealth piece of the Mo’cycle system for riders who live in black denim.

Our products are made for Mo’cycle Riders, Impact Sliders and the wider Airbag Generation who actually want to come back home after a ride, not just look good leaving. Melvin is produced in rider-driven pre-order batches, built for the road rather than for warehouse shelves.

When you later upgrade your Melvin Jeans with the Mo’cycle® Airbag, the feeling changes. You have airbag coverage around your lumbar spine, hips, thighs and tailbone, which can create a strong sense of peace of mind. Knowing the airbag is designed to manage impact energy differently than regular armor, many riders find they relax more, enjoy the ride more and feel safer in traffic – even when the roads are wet and visibility is poor. At the same time, it is important to remember that no equipment can remove all risk.
You still look like you are just wearing clean black jeans – but inside, you are running an award-recognized airbag system that was built for real crashes, not just spec sheets.

Melvin is designed to feel like your go-to pair of black jeans – not “gear you tolerate”.

• Mid-rise waist – Sits comfortably on the hips; high enough to feel secure on the bike, low enough to feel casual off it.
• Shaped back rise – Designed to stay in place when you lean forward to the bars, helping to keep your lower back covered.

The Mo’cycle® Airbag Module, CO₂ cartridge, trigger lanyard and impact protectors are not included and must be purchased separately.

PROTECTION
Out of the box, the Melvin Airbag-Ready Jeans are AA-rated abrasion jeans in coated Armalith® motorcycle denim – a single-layer black denim that looks like regular black jeans but is tested for abrasion performance at motorcycle speeds and designed to help with light rain. To unlock full impact safety performance, you add the Mo’cycle® Airbag module and impact protectors (all sold separately).
The jeans come with a built-in airbag zipper channel along the inner waist to install the Mo’cycle® Airbag when needed. Once the module is installed, you simply clip the mechanical tether to your bike and the system is armed. There are no batteries, no charging and no app – just a mechanical setup that works like a “dead man’s switch”.
If you separate from the bike in a qualifying event, the tether is designed to trigger the airbag, which inflates in milliseconds and forms a pressurized air volume around your lower back, hips, thighs and tailbone, working together with the knee & shin and hip protectors. Impact energy is managed and spread through the airbag and armor instead of concentrating directly on your bones, with the goal of reducing injury risk.

With the Airbag-Ready version, you already have built in:
• AA-rated Armalith® denim – CE-certified EN 17092-3:2020 abrasion resistance.
• Water-repellent black coating – Helps shed light rain and road spray.
• Airbag-ready construction – Side zip channels for the Mo’cycle® Airbag (add-on).

If you ride without the airbag and protectors, your safety performance comes from the AA-rated abrasion resistance of the coated Armalith® motorcycle denim only.
