The Impact Backup V1 lower-body airbag module is compatible with Mo’cycle® Airbag Jeans, Pants and Shorts that use the 60 cc hip/thigh module – including Melvin today and other models in your system wardrobe tomorrow. You can move a single module between compatible garments to match your ride, season or style – one airbag, multiple outfits.

Liam, as an upper-body airbag vest, is designed to sit over many different jackets. That means the same trusted upper-body airbag can follow you from your leather jacket to your textile shell or hoodie-style jacket, while Melvin handles the lower-body side of the system.

PROTECTION

Liam surrounds your torso with an upper-body airbag (around 17 liters when deployed, size-dependent) and supports the neck by building a firm collar around the base of the helmet when it inflates, aiming to reduce violent whiplash-type movement. A KNOX Micro-Lock® Level 2 back pad sits on the outside of the airbag inside an AA-rated denim shell, forming the outer layer of the upper-body protection stack.

Melvin uses AA-rated, black-coated Armalith® denim to provide abrasion resistance, with the Impact Backup V1 module zipping into an inner channel to surround hips, thighs, lumbar area and tailbone with an airbag. KNOX Micro-Lock® hip pads and Level 2 knee & shin pads add hard impact layers in the zones that most often hit the ground first. Together, the idea is simple: let denim and armor meet the environment first and drive energy into the airbag volumes, so air and inner structure can help spread and manage the hit instead of letting it focus on one spot.

No gear can guarantee injury-free outcomes, but combining airbags, CE armor and AA-rated outer fabrics is designed to give you a far better chance than riding in standard clothing in many real-world crash scenarios.

Production starts two weeks after the pre-order deadline has ended. Estimated delivery is summer 2026 for the first batch. This is an estimate, and we are heavily dependent on third party suppliers, which are out of our control. If the timeline changes, we’ll update you by email.

We start production by spinning the thread and our supplier picks the cotton from the fields, combining the cotton fibers with Ultra-High-Molecular-Weight-Poly-Ethelene (space tech. fibers with extreme abrasion properties). We do not mass-produce, everything is made upon pre-order. We hope you understand the multi-step manufacturing processes involved in creating Airbags, CE certifications and so on, if not, please do not consider making a pre-order from us. We are not Amazon. When you pre-order, you become a part of the whole journey and whatever obstacles come up when inventing and producing something new.

• 1× CO₂ cartridge for Melvin’s lower-body airbag – 60 cc cartridge matched to the Impact Backup V1 module, to be replaced after deployment.
• 1× CO₂ cartridge for Liam Airbag Vest – Size-matched (60 cc for size S, 100 cc for sizes M–XL).
• 1× lower-body trigger tether / lanyard – For connecting the Melvin/Impact Backup V1 system to your motorcycle.
